Just minutes from Butler, Zelienople, and Evans City, The Stables at Connoquenessing was originally built in the late 1920’s as part of the Spang Estate. In 2017, the two-story stable that was once a part of the Spang’s working farm, was renovated and reopened as a rustic, yet elegant event facility.
The original structure received a 30-foot addition to include modern amenities such as a large catering kitchen, handicapped accessible restrooms on both floors, an elevator and a bridal suite. The Stables at Connoquenessing has two levels, both of which are fully climate controlled, setting it apart from many of the traditional barn wedding venues available in the area. Both the main floor and the upper floor are handicap accessible through the use of a brand new elevator. The elevator is a huge benefit for older guests, who may find it difficult to navigate the staircase.
Upon arrival, your guests will find plenty of well lit parking in a large paved parking lot. The parking lot is located adjacent to the barn, which means guests do not have to walk through grass, mud, or gravel to enter. After entering The Stables at Connoquenessing, your guests will enjoy cocktail hour in the intimate downstairs dining area complete with bar and lounge areas as well as a covered patio. The space boasts the original wooden doors from the building’s stable days as well as a brick herringbone path that leads to the upstairs banquet hall.
Once the bridal party has arrived, the bride can discreetly enter the beautifully decorated bridal suite, where she can bustle her gown and freshen up while awaiting the formal introductions. At the conclusion of the cocktail hour, guests will travel up the staircase (or use the elevator) to the main hall which is adorned with three glistening chandeliers. Beautiful hardwood floors, shiplap covered walls and exposed beams complete the space and give your wedding a rustic, neutral backdrop which will accommodate any color scheme. The main hall is lined on both sides with built-in benches that maximize seating and increase the halls capacity. When combined with the included gold Chiavari chairs, the main hall can comfortably seat up to 175 guests and still allow room for your bridal table and a large dance floor.
The Stables at Connoquenessing firmly believes that every bride and groom deserves to plan their perfect wedding, so they do not require you to use any specific vendors. Couples are able to choose their own caterer, photographer, and disc jockey, which gives you the flexibility to create a completely customized wedding that fits within your budget.
I truly love The Stables at Connoquenessing. Not only due to the fact that it is located just 3 miles from my location, but more importantly, it is one of the few rustic wedding venues that still provides all of the modern conveniences of a traditional banquet hall. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. All in all, The Stables at Connoquenessing has found a way to merge classic elegance with rustic flair in a convenient location in Western Pennsylvania.
