On Friday we were at The Mayernik Center which is located in the Avonworth Community Park. The event was a wedding reception for Joseph and Meghann Montenaro. Meghann and Joe were actually married on June 28th 2010 at the Holy Redeemer By The Sea in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Since their wedding ceremony was held out of town, Meghann and Joe were at the Mayernik Center to greet the guests as they began to arrive shortly before 6:00 pm.
At 6:45 pm we formally introduced the bridal party to “Shimmy Low” by The Clarks. We then introduced Joe and Meghann to “Hang On Sloopy” by The McCoys. After the introductions, we invited the newlyweds to share in their first dance together as husband and wife to “Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney & Wings. Next, Meghann had requested a special dance with her father Mr. Dan Dugan to “In My Life” by The Beatles. Joe then danced with his mother Mrs. Jen Montenaro to “Carolina In My Mind” by James Taylor. After the formal danced Meghann and Joe cut their wedding cake to “Arthur’s Theme” by Christopher Cross.
Dinner was prepared by the culinary staff at Post Office Catering Group from Sewickley and was served sit-down style. During dinner, we were able to accompany professional photographer Nicole DeMark outside as Meghann and Joe posed for formal photographs.
Throughout the remainder of the evening, guests danced to music by MC Hammer, Usher, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Louis Armstrong and more. At 10:00 pm we invited all of the guests to share in the last dance of the evening to “Good Night Sweetheart (It’s Time To Go)” by the Platters.
