On Friday we were at The Atrium in Prospect PA. The event was a wedding reception for Mr. & Mrs. James & Julie Fry. Julie and Jim have been to other weddings where I was the DJ. The most recent was the wedding for Chris and Jen Balldacci on April 4th 2009 at the Vagabonds Center in Butler PA. Jim was one of the groomsmen at that wedding.
Julie and Jim where married at 4:00 pm in a ceremony at St. Paul’s Church in downtown Butler PA. Guests began arriving at The Atrium at 5:00 pm where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers. The bridal party arrived in a large party bus shortly after 6:00 pm, at which time we formally introduced them into the hall. After the introductions, Julie and Jim cut the cake to “I Got You Babe” by Sonny and Cher.
Dinner was provided by one of our favorite caterers “Jody’s Pantry” and was served “Family Style”. After dinner, the newlyweds shared in their first dance together as husband and wife to “Thank You” by Led Zeppelin. They then danced with the bridal party to “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen. Julie shared in a dance with her father Mr. John Honan to “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life” by Stevie Wonder and James then danced with his mother Mrs. Phyllis Fry to “Through The Years” by Kenny Rogers.
Throughout the remainder of the evening, guests danced to music by The Bee Gees, The Isley Brothers, Kool & The Gang, Pink and Salt N’ Pepa, to name a few. The wedding reception wrapped up at 11:00 pm as guest danced the last dance to “Come Away With Me” by Nora Jones.
