On Saturday we were at the St. Claire Country Club in Upper St. Claire PA. The event was a wedding reception for Taite and Jennifer Hopwood. Taite and Jenn were actually married on May 29th 2009 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and on this day they would celebrate with friends and family. Jenn is a nurse at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh and Taite is one of the owners of The Bar at 2132 on the Southside in Pittsburgh.
Guests began to arrive at the St. Claire Country Club shortly before 5:00 pm where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers on the covered patio just off the main ballroom. We setup a remote speaker on the patio during this time, so that guests could enjoy music outside.
The bride and groom along with the bridal party arrived at 5:45 pm after spending time taking photographs at various spots around Pittsburgh. After formally introducing the bridal party, Jenn and Taite shared in their first dance as husband and wife to “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers. They then cut the cake to “Let’s Duet” by John C. Reilly & Angela Correa. If you are not familiar with this song, it is a very funny song from “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” soundtrack.
Guests then enjoyed a sit-down meal that was prepared by the culinary staff at the St. Claire Country Club. After dinner, Jenn shared in a dance with her father Mr. Tom Javor while Taite danced with his mother Mrs. Jane Hopwood to “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. Jenn then requested a special dance with her mother Ms. Marion Parker to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.
Throughout the remainder of the evening, guests danced to songs such as “In The Ayre” by Flo Rida & Will.I.Am, “Forever” by Chris Brown and “808 Remix” by Blaque. At 10:30 pm we invited guests to share in the last dance of the evening to “Say Hey (I Love You)” by Michael Franti. At this point, Taite, Jenn and several guests headed off in shuttle buses to Taite’s bar in the Southside to continue the party.
