On Friday we were at Shakespeare’s at Olde Stonewall Golf Club in Ellwood City PA. The event was a wedding reception for Joseph & Heidi Moeller. Heidi & Joe were married at the Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople at 5:00 pm. The wedding reception was immediately following the ceremony and was held at Shakespeare’s. If you have never been to Shakespeare’s, I would highly recommend making the scenic drive some weekend to check this place out. Also known as “The Castle”, Shakespeare’s was constructed several years ago and resembles a sixteenth century castle. The clubhouse is surrounded by hundreds of massive stone boulders, and is nestled in the mountains of the beautifully landscaped Olde Stonewall Golf Course.
Guests began arriving at Shakespeare’s around 6:00 pm, where they enjoyed cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres. The bridal party arrived around 7:00 pm and after they were formally introduced, Joseph & Heidi played The Newlywed Game. Then, all of the guests enjoyed an eight minute photo montage featuring photos of the bride & groom, along with friends and family.
After dinner, Heidi & Joe cut the cake and then as the cake was being served to the guests as dessert, I headed out back, along with our newlyweds and the professional photographer, for a few pictures. There are many areas on the grounds at Shakespeare’s that make for a perfect backdrop for photographs. In addition to the beautiful surroundings, Heidi and Joe were very easy to work with and the end result was some wonderful pictures.
After pictures, Heidi & Joe returned inside where they shared in their first dance as husband and wife. Now, this was no ordinary first dance. You see, during the planning process, Heidi & Joe told me that they wanted to do something a little different. They wanted to start out by dancing to “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain. Then after a few minutes, they wanted it to appear as though the song malfunctioned and transition into a different song. After the song transitioned they picked up two wireless microphones and began to sing to the guests. This was a complete shock to everyone as no one other than the Heidi, Joe and myself, knew that this was going to happen. They did an awesome job and the guests thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Through out the remainder of the evening, guests danced to everything from “Boom Boom Pow” by The Black Eyed Peas, to “Livin on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, to “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey. The dance floor was packed until the party wrapped up shortly after 11:00 pm. We would like to congratulate Hedi & Joe and wish them the very best of luck!
