On Saturday we were at the Vagabond Center in Butler Pennsylvania. The event was a wedding reception for Mike & Crystal Huey. Mike & Crystal we married at 3:00 pm at the Saxonburg Memorial United Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg PA.
Guests began arriving at the Vagabond Center at 4:00 pm where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers. The bridal party arrived at 5:00 pm and were formally introduced into the hall to “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang. We then introduced Mike & Crystal to “Fire” by The Ohio Players. Mike and Crystal chose this song because Mike is a Fireman for Butler City.
After the introductions, Mike & Crystal played The Newlywed Game and then cut the wedding cake. The song they chose for the cake cutting was “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies. Dinner was prepared by the staff at the Vagabond Center and was served buffet style. This in itself was no small task, since there were a little over 400 guests in attendance.
After dinner Mike and Crystal shared in their first dance as husband and wife to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley. Crystal then requested a special dance with her father Mr. Jim Davis to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. Next, Mike danced with his mother Mrs. Max Huey to “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.
Throughout the remainder of the evening, guests danced to music by Digital Underground, Naughty By Nature, Michael Jackson, Tone Loc and more. The party continued until 11:00 pm at which time we invited guests to share in the last dance of the evening to “I’ve Had The Time Of My Life” by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes.
