On Sunday we were at the Wyndham Hotel located on Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh PA. Our clients were Michael & Jill Horvat and the event was a Bat Mitzvah for their daughter Eliza. The evening started off with the Bat Mitzvah ceremony during which Eliza read from the Torah.
Immediately following the Bat Mitzvah ceremony the guests moved to an adjacent room where everyone enjoyed a kosher meal. Eliza made all of the decorations for her Bat Mitzvah and received many compliments on them. Everything was color coordinated, even the yarmulkes that were provided for the ceremony. The center pieces were squared vases filled with blue and green stones and LED lights.
After dinner, the kids participated in a contest called “The Human Puzzle”. We then opened up the dance floor and after a couple of songs I invited the adults to join in as everyone danced the Hora. Over the next few hours we provided a mix of dancing and contests. The kids participated in a Hula Hoop contest, a Walla Balla contest and even a dance contest. Winners of the contests were each awarded gift cards to either Rita’s Ice or Cold Stone Creamery.
Eliza also provided her friend’s with several different party props. Cowboy hats, fuzzy hats, sun glasses, glow necklaces and blow up guitars just to name a few. Every kid there received a couple of these props through out the evening. One of the most popular props is the blowup guitars and the person who seemed to really enjoy them was Eliza’s father Mike Horvat. He rocked the dance floor with a great performance and all the kid’s joined in (see picture below). Even Eliza’s little sister Ella joined in the fun.
Eliza’s Bat Mitzvah turned out to be a very special day for her, her family and her friends. I’m sure this will be a day that they will never forget. Mazel Tov Eliza!
