On Friday we were at the Butler Days Inn in Butler PA. The event was a wedding reception for Michael and Tonya Boardonaro. Michael & Tonya were married at 6:00 pm in an outdoor wedding ceremony at The Succop Nature Park in Butler PA. Guests began to arrive to the Days Inn at 7:00 pm where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers in Holiday Hall. The bridal party arrived in a large party bus around 8:00 pm, at which time we formally introduced them into the hall.
After the introductions, guests watched an 8 minute photo montage featuring Michael & Tonya. After the photo montage, toasts were offered by the 2 best men, along with the maid & matron of honor.
Dinner was prepared by the culinary staff at the Butler Days Inn and was served buffet style. After dinner, Michael & Tonya played “The Newlywed Game” prior to cutting the cake. We then invited our guests of honor to share in their first dance together as husband and wife to “All The Way” by Frank Sinatra. Michael & Tonya then shared in a dance with the bridal party to “Cheek To Cheek” by Frank Sinatra. Tonya danced with her father Mr. Alan Miller Sr. to “Father Daughter” by Paul Simon and Michael danced with his mother Mrs. Emilie Harmon to “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” by Simon and Garfunkel.
During open dancing guests danced to songs such as “Cupid Shuffle” by Cupid, “Like A Prayer” by Madonna, “Fire Burnin” by Sean Kingston and “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond. At one point we invited all of Tonya’s “Zeta Tau Alpha” sorority sisters to join her on the dance floor as they danced & sang to “Livin’ On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi. We then invited Michael’s “Phi Sigma Kappa” fraternity brothers to the dance floor, where they formed a large circle around Michael & Tonya and serenaded the two of them to “Come Sail Away” by Styx.
The party continued until 12:00 midnight at which time we invited all of the guests to share in the last dance of the evening to “Someone Like You” by Van Morrison. Since no one wanted the party to end, Michael & Tonya invited guests to join them for an after party at Frisco’s Pub which, is located within the Butler Days Inn.
