On Friday we were at the Days Inn Resort and Conference Center in Butler Pennsylvania. The event was a wedding reception for Chris and Mandy Jockel. This was the second wedding that we did for the Jockel family in the past month. Chris’ sister Holly got married back in June and her wedding reception was held at The Chadwick in Wexford.
Mandy and Chris were married at 5:30 pm at St. Luke’s Church in Saxonburg PA. Guests began arriving at the Butler Days Inn shortly before 7:00 pm where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers. At 8:00 pm we formally introduced the bridal party to the song “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas. We then introduced Chris and Mandy to “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble / Get Ready For This” from the Jock Jams CD. After the introductions, guests watched an 8 minute photo montage featuring the bride and groom. We then invited Chris and Mandy to the center of the dance floor, where they played The Newlywed Game.
Dinner was prepared by the culinary staff at the Butler Days Inn and was served buffet style. After dinner, Mandy and Chris cut their wedding cake to the song “Stolen” by Dashboard Confessional. We then invited the newlyweds to share in their first dance together as husband and wife to “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson. They then danced with the bridal party to “A Whole New World” by Peabo Bryson & Regina Belle. Next, Mandy requested a special dance with her father Mr. Jim Bearrow to “Cinderella” by Stephen Curtis Chapman and Chris danced with his mother Mrs. Dawn Jockel to “In My Life” by The Beatles.
Throughout the remainder of the evening guests danced to music by Michael Jackson, Ben Folds, AC DC, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and more. At midnight, we invited all of the guests to share in the last dance of the evening to “Time Of My Life” by David Cook.
