On Friday we were at the Butler Country Club in Butler Pennsylvania. The event was a wedding reception for Landon and Julia Muir. Landon and Julia were married at 5:30 pm at the North Street Christian Church located in Butler Pennsylvania.
Guest began arriving to the Butler Country Club shortly before 6:30 pm where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers. The bridal party arrived in a large black limousine around 7:00 pm at which time they went out on to the golf course for photographs with Photographer Tim Huff. After photographs, we formally introduced the parents and the bridal party to “Renegade” by Styx and Landon and Julia were introduced to the “Pittsburgh Penguins Theme Song”.
After the introductions, guests watched an 8 minute photo montage featuring Landon and Julia. We then invited the newlyweds to cut their wedding cake. For the cake cutting, they chose the song “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar.
Dinner was prepared by the culinary staff at the Butler Country Club and started with the wait staff serving wedding soup and than salads tossed in raspberry vinaigrette. The main course was then served buffet style. The food at the Butler Country Club is always amazing and tonight was no exception.
At the conclusion of dinner we introduced the father of the groom, Mr. Dennis Muir who welcomed all of the guests and blessed the bride & groom. We then invited Landon and Julia to share in their first dance together as husband and wife to the song “Me and You” by Kenney Chesney. Landon and Julia then danced with the bridal party to “For My Wedding” by Don Henley.
Next, Julia requested a special dance with her step father Dr. Victor Nieto to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. Landon also requested a dance with his mother Mrs. Mariann Muir to the song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwoole.
One of the highlights of the evening occurred just prior to the start of open dancing. I invited all of the guests to surround the dance floor and then invited Landon Muir, Julia Muir, Casey Muir, Carrie Errington and Kelly McDeavitt to the center of the dance floor where they amazed guests with a well choreographed dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. This was a complete surprise to the guests since Landon & Julia have been practicing the dance routine for several weeks in secrecy. The parents of the groom even joined in the last half of the song and the performance was flawless.
From there, we opened up the dance floor with “I Got A Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. Through out the remainder of the evening guests danced to songs from Grand Funk Railroad, The Gap Band, Abba, Bon Jovi and much more.
The evening ended around 11:30 pm as we invited Julia and Landon to share in the last dance of the evening to “Jump In The Line” by Harry Belafonte.
