On Saturday we were at Betsy’s Barn in Portersville Pennsylvania. The event was a wedding ceremony and wedding reception for Renee and Josh. Renee and Josh had planned on getting married at the gazebo which is located directly behind the barn. Guests began arriving at Betsy’s Barn at 3:00 pm as we played prelude music prior to the start of the wedding ceremony. However, approximately 10 minutes before the start of the wedding ceremony, the skies opened up and it began to rain. So, we made a last minute adjustment and moved everything inside the barn to the dance floor area.
After a short delay, the wedding ceremony began and was presided over by Chaplain Bill Beck. Renee and Josh chose mostly non-traditional ceremony music which included 2 songs that were performed live by Amber Persinger. After a 25 minute ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers as the bridal party posed for photographs with Elaina Eppinger.
At 5:30 pm we formally introduced the bridal party into the barn and then Renee shared in a dance with her father and Josh danced with his mother prior to dinner. Dinner was prepared by the staff at Betsy’s Barn and was served buffet style.
After dinner, Renee and Josh played The Newlywed Game and then cut their wedding cake. Afterwards, the newlyweds shared in their first dance together as husband and wife to the song My Best Friend by Tim McGraw. Throughout the remainder of the evening, guests danced to the sounds of DJ Pifemaster until the wedding reception ended at 10:30 pm.
