Ian and Samantha Penberthy Wedding

On Saturday July 17th 2010 we were at Succop Conservancy in Butler Pennsylvania. The event was a wedding ceremony and wedding reception for Ian and Samantha Penberthy. Ian and Samantha were guests at a previous wedding I did for Marwan and Dana Maalouf last July and that wedding turned out great. Because of this, I expected that this wedding was going to be fun also – and was it ever!

Guests began arriving at Succop Conservancy shortly before 3:00 pm as we played prelude music prior to the start of the ceremony. The wedding ceremony was to be held on the brick cul-de-sac located directly in front of the Marcraig House and officially started at 3:30 pm with the processionals. The ceremony was presided over by wedding celebrant Reverend Sandra Monahan and lasted approximately 25 minutes.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests were dismissed into the Marcraig House where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers for about an hour, prior to being seated at the event pavilion. At 5:15 pm we formally introduced the bridal party to the song “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. We then introduced Ian and Sam to “Kick Start My Heart” by Motley Crue.

After the introductions, we invited the newlyweds to share in their first dance together as husband and wife to the song “Amazed” by Lonestar. Next, Samantha had requested a special dance with her father Mr. Ed Reith to “My Girl” by The Temptations and Ian danced with his mother Mrs. Sharon Penberthy to “The Perfect Fan” by The Backstreet Boys. We then invited Ian and Sam to cut their wedding cake to “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies.

Dinner was prepared by the culinary staff at Medure’s Catering from New Castle PA and was served buffet style. After dinner, we started things off with an anniversary dance, followed by a bridal party dance – with a little twist. For the bridal party dance, we invited the bridal party to the dance floor and allowed them to begin to dance with their partners. After a minute, we then instructed them to go out into the audience and choose someone else to continue to dance with. We did this 2 more times throughout the course of the song.

From there, we opened up the dance floor and as they say – the rest is history! I could continue to write about everything that happened that evening, but unless you were there, no words could do the event justice. There were dance contests, a keg stand by the groom, fireworks, a champagne shower on the dance floor and even crowd surfing by the bride & groom. After providing disc jockey entertainment for almost 1200 weddings, I have to say that this wedding was, without a doubt, one of the most fun-filled events I have performed at.

Unfortunately, it did have to come to an end. So at 10:00 pm we invited all of the guests to share in the last dance of the evening to “Always” by Bon Jovi.

    Dearest Pifemaster….

Wow… is pretty much all I can say about my wedding and I owe alot of that to you! If you would have told me at the begining of my special day that I was going to crowd surf by the end of the night I would have had to say NO WAY! I can not thank you enough for making my wedding day so amazing! It will definitely be a day that I will remember for the rest of my life! The pictures are amazing! I love how you are able to catch people at their “best” party shot!
Once again thank you for everything!

ps: Remember when we discussed backup plans if no one would dance?

Great music, awesome atmosphere, and by far the greatest party of my lifetime! I agree with Sam, the pictures you took seem to be at the perfect moment, or at the peak of excitement. Everyone at the wedding said they had an awesome time, and said you were one of the best DJs they have ever heard.

Thanks for everything, it was perfect.

( I know you secretly loved the champagne rain. )

  3. Ian & Samantha,

Thank you both for the wonderful comments. I have to admit that your wedding reception was one that I will remember for many years to come. I thought everything went just perfect – some without even planning. I mean, what are the odds that there would just happen to be Fireworks 4 blocks away during your wedding reception?

Sam – I remember having that conversation about “what should we do if no one dances” – I can now honestly say I wasn’t too worried.

Ian – I would have loved the champagne rain even more if I would have gotten to drink some of it!

I want you both to know that you did start a trend. At my wedding this past Saturday, I informed the bride & groom about your crowd surfing adventure and they LOVED the idea. Unfortunately, the pics did not come out as well as yours, but the experience for them was awesome.

Thanks again & keep in touch,
    Robert Pfeifer
