A Great Father Daughter Dance Song

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Jamie Tate who lives in Cary, North Carolina. Jamie just released a new song which was created specifically for a Father Daughter Dance at weddings. Jamie’s story is pretty unique and her song just might be the perfect song for the father daughter dance at your wedding. You can listen to the song below and view the lyrics at the bottom of this page.

Jamie was getting married and was looking for the perfect song for which she could dance with her father at her wedding reception. After listening to hundreds of father daughter dance songs, Jamie decided that she wanted to do something special for her father. So, she turned to her father, Bob Crumley, the co-founder of Bodell Music and together with friend, longtime songwriter and Bodell Music co-founder, Lane Caudell, “Daddy, Let’s Dance” was born.

Jamie wanted the song to be a surprise so she and her fellow co-writers didn’t tell anyone they were working on the song. The song was debuted at Jamie’s wedding and received such a great response, that the decision was made to go back to Nashville for a master recording, that would result in the public release of the song.

I am constantly asked for recommendations for a unique father daughter dance song. There are literally hundreds of great father daughter dance songs out there. The problem is that most of them have been done-to-death. “Daddy, Let’s Dance” is not only unique, it is performed beautify and is sung from the correct perspective – the bride speaking to her father. Many other popular father daughter dance songs, such as “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, are sung from the opposite perspective. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it’s just that many brides are looking for a song that THEY can dedicate to their father.

The song can be purchased online at Jamie’s website www.daddyletsdance.com as a digital download, a physical CD, or both. We would like to congratulate Jamie on her recent release and wish her the very best of luck.

A Great Father Daughter Dance Song

Lyrics to “Daddy, Let’s Dance” by Jamie Tate

Remember when I’d stand on your shoes
Hoping for some time with just you
I’d hold on tight cause I’d wanna play
You’d look down at me; that’s when I’d say

Chorus
Daddy, let’s dance
Twirl me around, don’t let me fall
Daddy, let’s dance
Hold me right now, give me one song
Daddy, let’s dance

Remembering my first high school prom
You said to me, “where’s the time gone?”
A knock at the door, but he’ll have to wait
The first dance is daddy’s, so we’ll just be late

Repeat Chorus

You’ve walked with me all through my life
Today’s walk has made me a wife
Smiles with tear drops, it’s my special day
But, I’m still your little girl, so I’ve got to say

Repeat Chorus

Daddy, let’s dance
